Fred Grasso, JD

As in-house counsel and corporate manager, Mr. Grasso provided legal counsel on natural gas contractual, commercial, and regulatory issues; drafted, edited and reviewed contracts, motions, interventions, and petitions for filing with federal agencies; researched and drafted legal memoranda in support of federal adjudicatory proceedings; negotiated, drafted and reviewed various documents, agreements and contracts related to the exploitation of hydrocarbon resources; conducted due diligence and drafted documents related to the sale of pipeline assets; researched, analyzed, drafted and programmed civil and criminal law legal documents for use in a proprietary document assembly software program used by legal practitioners in Texas, Florida and California.


Mr. Grasso holds a BA in Russian from Syracuse University, an MA in International Relations from the University of Southern California, and a JD from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Translators Association.


How long have you taught in the Paralegal Program and what sessions do you teach?

Paralegal instructor since 2007. Responsibilities include or have included Instructor for Paralegal II Contracts, Introduction to ProDoc, and proctor for the Paralegal II Online module.


What do you like about the UTSA Paralegal Program?

What I like about the program is that in addition to covering the required material, I’m able to challenge the students to think by asking questions, and by modifying the facts in a given scenario and asking the students whether or how the modification might alter the outcome.
