THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO

HANDBOOK OF OPERATING PROCEDURES

General Statement

The Rules and Regulations of The University of Texas System Board of Regents require that the Chief Administrative Officer of each institution prepare rules and regulations for the governance of the institution in the form of a Handbook of Operating Procedures.  These rules and regulations are subject to the approval of the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of The University of Texas System.  They may not conflict with any part of the Regents' Rules and Regulations.  If a conflict arises between any provision in the Handbook of Operating Procedures and any provision in the Regents' Rules and Regulations, the provision in the Regents' Rules and Regulations prevails and overrules any other provision.

Official policy of The University of Texas at San Antonio is contained in the Regents' Rules and Regulations and the Handbook of Operating Procedures.  Other documents pertinent to the administration of The University of Texas at San Antonio are (1) the official current catalog of UT San Antonio that is approved by the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the Board of Regents, (2) the various Administrative Memoranda issued by the President of UT San Antonio, (3) The UTSA Information Bulletin and (4) special official publications and documents such as the Affirmative Action Plan issued for special purposes.

All official documents to include the Handbook of Operating Procedures, Administrative Memoranda Series, Regents’ Rules and Regulations, UTSA Catalog, and the UTSA Information Bulletin are available online.
