Texas Public Information Act
The Texas Public Information Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 552) entitles each person to complete information about the affairs of government and the official acts of public officials and employees, unless otherwise expressly provided by law. Governmental bodies shall release requested information as promptly as possible, unless the information is exempt from disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act.

Student Educational Records
Upon written request, the University will provide a student with access to their own educational records. For further information, see Annual Notice of FERPA Rights and Notice Concerning Directory Information. Access to educational records covered by FERPA is made available within 45 days of the request. Students wishing to review their own FERPA records may contact the appropriate office listed below for certain records:
- Transcripts - Available online at Transcript Services
- Verification of Enrollment (VOE) - Available online at Verification of Enrollment and Degree
- Other Academic Records - Submit your request to onestop@utsa.edu
- Financial Aid Records - Submit your request to onestop@utsa.edu
- Treatment Records - Student Health, Counseling and Mental Health Services - Submit your request to wellbeing@utsa.edu and Student Disability Services - Complete the Records Request form available online and, once completed, send to disability.services@utsa.edu
- Other Student Records - Senior Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Office of Student Affairs. Submit your request to DoS@utsa.edu
Students may also submit written requests describing the item(s) of interest to Open Records by clicking on the “Submit an Online Request” or by one of the valid delivery methods noted above.
UTSA Holidays
Pursuant to the Attorney General’s Office, the holidays listed on the link below are not considered business days for the purposes of open records timelines.
