Open Records - Texas Public Information Act

The Texas Public Information Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 552) gives you the right to access government (UTSA) records; UTSA may not ask you why you want them. All government information is presumed to be available to the public, although certain exceptions may apply. Governmental bodies shall release requested information as promptly as possible, unless the information is exempt from disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act.

UTSA student education records such as transcripts and immunization records cannot be released through a TPIA open records request.
You must instead submit an education records request through the UTSA Registrar's Office.

Student records for admission such as high school transcripts, financial aid documents and immunization records cannot be submitted through this office.
You may submit them directly through UTSA's One Stop Enrollment Center. (Fax No. 210-458-4638)

Student directory information for the Fall 2017 semester will not be available to release until after the University census date of September 7, 2017.
