My research has been focusing on the hydrological processes at the interfaces of bedrock-soil-vegetation-atmosphere, using approaches of remote sensing, geostatistics, analytical and numerical modeling. The specific topics include mountain precipitation mapping, hydrologic and ecological impacts of global climatic variability (e.g., ENSO, PDO) and change, remote sensing of vegetation coverage, mountain evapotranspiration modeling, hillslope water partitioning, mountain-block recharge estimation.
