The Teaching Online Academy is a free, fully online professional development opportunity for UTSA faculty who are interested in building a high-quality online course. The course length is six weeks, starting June 25 and ending August 5, 2018.

Workshop Outcomes

Participants will review and discuss best practices for online teaching and will build their course autonomously. Basic Blackboard skills are a pre-requisite.

By the end of the academy participants will be able to:

  • Create an effective online syllabus and schedule that provide clear guidance and expectations for students.
  • Design instructional content and activities for online delivery.
  • Develop online content, communication, and assessment components.
  • Explore and become confident in using a variety of advanced Blackboard Learn tools that enhance the student learning experience.

Upon completion of required activities, participants will receive a certificate.
