Congratulations to Donna Edmondson and Maggie Floyd on their collaboration and publication of their article “Sponsorship in Academia: Observations from the Staff Perspective” in NCURA Magazine. They describe their experiences as members of Leadership UTSA, 2011-2012 cohort, among other experiences along their leadership path as administrators and faculty members. Good job!

Congratulations to the Orientation and Family Programs staff for UTSA parents for meeting specialized family needs by offering the first all-Spanish orientation program in collaboration with offices within Student Affairs and Academic Affairs!

Linda, I am honored to pass on Thank You Rowdy to such a deserving co-worker!!

For those newbies on board I feel I must recap your extensive career beginning in July 1980 in Human Resources as a Personnel Technician faithfully serving UTSA’s faculty and staff. Finally taking a much needed but entirely too short retirement break before moving to the Office of the Registrar in October 2007!!

You have tirelessly and efficiently gotten staff to and from numerous trips all the while keeping your cool especially with the changes in Travel procedures. You not only keep the employees’ time records up to date but makes sure student workers are paid on time. You make sure all the Registrar’s electronic devices are inventoried regularly and keep up with them off campus.

In addition, you provide kitchen supplies, oftentimes at your own expense. And last but certainly not least exhibiting fabulous baking skills occasionally and in some people’s opinion not often enough. You have been known to take requests when bringing in something tasty.

All the while, never complaining and always with a friendly smile! Rowdy is pleased to spend time with you since he is not able to retire yet.
