Commencement Ceremony Kudos

Charlin Jones was recognized for her work coordinating the December Commencement ceremonies, by Sandra T. Welch, Ph.D., Senior Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, who wrote:

Charlin,
The assistance you provided for faculty for the commencement ceremonies at the Convention Center was great. We had plenty of clear information. In addition, I want to compliment the transportation services offered to the faculty and staff. The bus drivers provided polite door-to-door stress-free (for us!) travel.

Student Section Spirit Conference

UTSA Students at Student Section Spirit Conference

Student Leaders from UTSA Student Government, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Rowdy Crew, and The Spirit of San Antonio Band attended The Student Section Spirit Conference at Baylor University earlier this month.

The conference was designed to help student leaders promote athletics and participation at their institutions. Schools from all over the state of Texas attended, including TCU, Houston, and Baylor as well as representatives from the University of West Virginia.

Some of the topics discussed were collaboration, promotions, marketing and leadership between Student Organizations, Student Activities and Athletics: how these factors work and how you build a long-term culture of support versus a short-term interest that fluctuates and may even burn out.

UTSA was well represented and all of our student leaders made us proud.
