2016 UTSA Student Affairs Conference

UTSA Student Affairs Conference Organizers

The Staff Development Team hosted the 8th Annual Student Affairs Conference on March 4, 2016. We appreciate the support from our Vice President for Student Affairs, Sam Gonzales, and all UTSA staff members and student workers who volunteered and attended.

A special thanks goes to our 2016 Student Affairs Conference Key Note Speaker, Courtney Clark. Courtney taught us how to adapt faster and achieve more with accelerated resilience. She also shared techniques for bouncing back, letting go of the plan, and getting clarity when life or work throws you a curveball.

For this year’s community service project, we collaborated with Be The Match in partnership with the GenCure Marrow Donor Program to make donor registration kits. These kits were used to register new donors onto the Be The Match registry. This registry finds potential marrow matches for patients with Leukemia, Lymphoma and other life threatening blood diseases and disorders: our conference participants made 200 registration kits!

The conference also has a silent auction benefiting the UTSA Transformation Fund. Thanks to the generous participation of so many people, we raised a record-breaking $2,700! The silent auction always adds to the excitement of the conference experience. Thanks to everyone who donated items this year and to those who bid.

We appreciate your participation in the conference and look forward to seeing everyone next year. Visit the Student Affairs Facebook page or the Snapshots page of this newsletter to see photos of the conference.
