Publicize an event or make a campus announcement

Internal Communications can help you publicize events and make announcements via internal publications including UTSA Today. Contact us to learn more about how to share your news within the UTSA community.

What is newsworthy?

Generally, a story must have some unique aspect to warrant attention. For example, this could be a scientific breakthrough, an exceptionally large donation, appointment of a well-known scholar, or a significant event or development.

Stories should be timely. If the story is about an event that occurred several weeks or a month ago, this would not be newsworthy. UTSA Today does not accept stories more than five business days after an event.

Media Relations staff can help you determine if your story is appropriate for media coverage. Keep in mind that media coverage can never be guaranteed. Learn more about the UTSA Media Relations team.
