“I come from Green Bay, Wisconsin. I don't know many people here, and I am a nontraditional college student. The friends I have made here at UTSA have made it feel like I have a family here in Texas, especially my TRiO fam, John Bonner and Jaz Burgess. They made me feel so special when I was graduating since my family wasn't here to celebrate all of the milestones, the dinners and the ceremonies. Jaz took my grad photos for me! They were professional photos! Jaz and John made me feel like I belonged in college even though I was nearing 30. Now that I have graduated I have continued my education at UTSA, with a master program and I work in the same building as Jaz and John. I get to visit them all the time! I love my UTSA family!”
