“Two of the best moments of the quick, one-year process was during Commencement services on Mother’s Day, May 13, 2018. The first is that I kept my schooling very quiet. Only my wife, Dr. Beverly Woodson Day and my kids were in on my secret to surprise my mom. I pulled off the surprise to my mom on Mother’s Day.
The second moment was unexpected with UTSA President Dr. Taylor Eighmy. The moment was captured by my wife as the ceremony was beginning. Dr. Eighmy broke protocol walking to the stage in the Alamodome to congratulate me and gave me a “high-five!” Dr. Eighmy made my day to show some love to me walking to the stage. It will be one of many UTSA stories I will share for the rest of my life.
