Emergency Notifications for Guests
Parents, visitors and other campus guests can access emergency communications through a variety of convenient options.
UTSA Today and University Social Media
The university posts information and updates on UTSA Today and the university's official social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
UTSA Alerts Emergency Notification System
University guests can temporarily opt in to receive UTSA Alerts during events, camps and other activities. Emergency updates will be provided by text.
To sign up for temporary alerts, text UTSAGuest to 226787. You will receive a confirmation and welcome text. Registration for guest alerts expire after sixty days, or you can reply “STOP UTSAGuest” to cancel.
Giant Voice Mass Notification System
The university uses an indoor/outdoor mass notification system at the Main Campus, Downtown Campus and Institute of Texan Cultures. The system features eight outdoor siren towers that optimally can be heard within 1,600 feet of each tower on the Main Campus. In an emergency, the high-power sirens broadcast alerts via a live or recorded voice message tailored to the emergency situation. Most buildings feature an indoor emergency notification system, which utilizes the fire alarm system speakers to broadcast emergency messages.
