Essential Functions
The Associate/Assistant Vice President for Strategic Partnerships will lead efforts to establish and maintain key partnerships supporting university priorities. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Engagement, the AVP will collaborate closely with advancement colleagues, faculty, academic leaders and partners across UTSA to develop strategic, innovative and multifaceted opportunities to build connections with local, state and national corporations and foundations. The AVP will work with the Provost to advance Academic Affairs initiatives, such as Career-Engaged Learning, and collaborate with college and unit development officers charged with building institutional partnerships.
Specific duties include:
- Identify and manage a portfolio of relationships with key leadership or influencers among existing and potential corporate and foundation partners; design a business development plan with emphasis on the strategy that targets global foundations to fund priority program areas.
- Supervise the Corporate and Foundation Engagement (CFE) team. The Director of Corporate Engagement and the Director of Foundation Engagement are focused on expanding and enhancing corporate and foundation engagement. The CFE team works with units and faculty across campus to help them develop, refine and implement corporate and foundation fundraising strategies by directing and coordinating activities related to obtaining major and principal level funding and support, including working with research and all programs on campus that engage these areas.
- Identify emerging business leadership and industry trends with a special emphasis on developing high value-exchange alliances to garner larger philanthropic commitments to support the mission and goals of the University.
- Develop a solid pipeline of acquisition targets that closely align with UTSA’s foundation partnership strategy through close collaboration with senior leaders and external entities.
- Manage the development of highly competitive proposals for foundation prospects and leverage diverse foundation goals and preferences in conjunction with university goals at the local, state, and national level. Monitor proposal deadlines, prepare and edit proposals, and manage proposal submissions.
- In collaboration with the Donor Relations team, develop and oversee a high-quality stewardship process for active CFE prospects and donors. Ensure that stewardship and reporting requirements are met to sustain successful partnerships by maintaining detailed records of solicitation activities.
- Serve as an active member of Advancement and Alumni Engagement’s leadership team and collaborate with academic and administrative leadership and peers to achieve division-wide goals.

Required Qualifications
- Assistant Vice President – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with five years of similar experience.
- Associate Vice President – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with seven years of similar experience.

- Leadership and supervisory experience; demonstrated success in mentoring, evaluating, and motivating employees.
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of corporate and foundation fundraising, donor and public relations, including strategies for donor identification, cultivation and solicitation.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communications skills and political acumen to establish and maintain good working relationships within all organizational levels and with outside constituencies.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
To provide specialized skills in creating and managing university endowments. Responsible for ensuring that gift and endowment agreements comply with University and UT System policies and practices.
Core Responsibilities
- Drafts, coordinates, and tracks the preparation of new gifts, endowments, and annual scholarship agreements, and other documents supporting gifts to UTSA from draft to final form.
- Ensures that all gift agreements include language consistent with current laws and University and UT system policies and practices.
- Responsible for submitting new endowments to the UT System for review and acceptance via the SABER system.
- Coordinates annual donor endowment reports.
- Monitors the endowment services email inbox.
- Assists with scheduling endowment compliance training for all University personnel involved in endowment management, and ensures that training materials are up to date with the Board of Regents, UT System, and UTSA policies and procedures.
- Assists with scheduling endowment compliance meetings with campus partners, planning meeting agendas, and taking meeting notes.
- Assists with archiving digital and paper documents.
- Assists departments in resolving questions relating to endowment compliance and gift acceptance.
- Provides data for internal and external reports upon request.

Essential Functions
The UTSA Office of Alumni Relations seeks a creative, innovative, highly organized, and collaborative individual to serve as the Senior Events Manager, responsible for leading all signature events and further identifying unique alumni engagement programming opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversees all signature events on behalf of the Alumni Relations Office and the UTSA Alumni Association, including but not limited to, Home and Away Football Tailgates, the Annual Diploma Dash 5K, Golf Scramble Fundraiser, and the annual Alumni Awards Gala.
- Assists colleagues and Alumni Relations staff members to initiate, plan develop, and execute other engagement and fundraising events, including coordination of logistical and operational needs, budget management, programming, marketing, and communications coordination.
- Recruits, coordinates, and manages external alumni volunteers to assist with organizational events, programs, and activities.
- Responsible for creating a new and overarching volunteer program in line with the department’s new strategic plan.
- Responsible for identifying future event engagement opportunities that will further expand the department’s mission of uniquely engaging UTSA graduates and alumni.
- Gathers, records, and monitors data related to events and volunteer participation for reporting on alumni engagement metrics, ensuring the achievement of objectives.
- Coordinates financial transactions related to event programming, including budget tracking and invoicing, following department and university requirements and policies.
- Oversees and manages programming and event equipment, inventory, and storage.
- Acts as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and facilitate event and programming needs.
- Supervises the Events & Advancement Coordinator position; provides leadership, training, and ongoing coaching/feedback.
