Biography:

Joselyn Rameau’s professional experience has centered on computer programming, databases reporting, and analytics for both the higher education and the corporate sector. Joselyn is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in Visual Basic Programming and Access. She has instructed and coded in programming languages (C++, Java, ASP.net/VB), markup/scripting languages (HTML, XHTML (CSS), XML (DTD, XSD, XSL), JavaScript, PHP), and database languages (TSQL with SQL Server and PSQL with Oracle). In addition, Joselyn has spent years writing reports and conducting analytics through multiple tools including Crystal Reports, MS Reporting Services, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, and recently Power Bi.

Joselyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration of Management Information Systems from Florida International University, in Miami, Florida. She continued her education and earned a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems/Management. Furthermore, she earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Educational Technology. She completed a quantitative Causal Comparative study, which focused on The Impact of Educational Technology Use on First Generation Students’ Academic Performance. Her research answered the question: To what extent do, first generation students using educational technology in postsecondary computer programming courses differ in final course grade with first generation students that do not use educational technology in computer programming courses in an on-ground program.
Joselyn worked in Alamo Colleges District Office as the Lead Systems Analyst focusing on Banner infrastructure development and documentation. Her focus was validating data, aligning report programming logic, and as a liaison between the institutional Research Department and I.T., ensuring Institutional Research data was operational for the district, which affected all five Alamo Colleges (PAC, SAC, NVC, NLC, and SPC). While in Alamo, she led multiple programming and methodology projects. Based in part on her research background Joselyn was selected to present in the Institutional Research Conference, several years in a row. In addition, Joselyn was the recipient of the Vice Chancellor for Planning, Performance & Information Systems Student First award for the performance as a project lead for the Placement and Infrastructure streamlining project.

In Internal Audit, Joselyn has been involved in multiple project where the use her knowledge of programming for script reviews, understanding of databases for query development, and analytics for visualizations were utilized. She has been part of the Data Analytics ACUA subcommittee and contributed to the Data Analytics and Validation Kickstarter. She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the San Antonio Power Bi User Group (SA-PUG), and serves as the Data Analytics Faculty Lead for the Association for Colleges and University Auditors (ACUA).
