Current social distancing guidance has affected our typical hiring process, and in some cases, requires adjustment to timelines for hiring. Until further notice, UTSA will conduct interviews virtually.
Current searches may continue as planned or be placed on hold. Candidates in searches placed on hold will receive email notification. UTSA is closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and is receiving guidance from international, U.S., Texas and local public health officials.

External Applicants
New Users
- To search positions, select from the menu options located on the left navigation menu.
- To apply for a job, register for a new user account by clicking the New User link located on the top navigation bar.
Returning Users
- Click the Sign In link located on the top navigation bar, enter your username and password.
This enables you to:
- Edit your existing account settings.
- Apply for new jobs.
- Review the status of positions you have applied to.
- Email postings to a friend.
Internal Applicants
In Employee Self-Service, click on the UTSA Staff Careers. Search for position by keyword, location, department or job family.

- Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear
- Choose a time range from the Time range drop-down menu
- Choose the types of data you want to clear. For example, you may want to remove browsing history and cookies but keep passwords and form fill data.
- Select Clear now
Mozilla Firefox
- Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) at the top right and select Settings
- Select the Privacy & Security menu on the left side
- In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data
- Remove the check mark in front of Cookies and Site Data
- With Cached Web Content check marked, click the Clear button
- Close setting page to automatically save your changes
Apple Safari
- In the Safari app on your Mac, choose History > Clear History, then click the pop-up menu.
- Choose how far back you want your browsing history cleared.
After Browser Cache Is Cleared
After clearing the cache, you will need to close all your browser sessions to complete the browser cache and cookie cleanup. Restart a new session by launching the browser (this will generate a new security cookie, this needs to be performed once). Do not restore browser sessions if asked.

What is the time frame to fill a position?
Timelines vary with each position. Hiring can take a few months, and in some cases, longer.
How do I find out the status of my application?
Log in to the UTSA Careers website and click on Job Applications to view your application status.
What does "preferred qualifications” in the job posting mean?
All positions require specific education, experience and skills. To meet the requirements for the position, applicants must have
these required qualifications. Preferred qualifications are skills or experience that go above and beyond the required qualifications. They are not required for consideration, but are qualifications that the hiring manager
may prefer an applicant possess. Applicants with preferred qualifications may be considered more qualified than an applicant who does not possess them.
My online application was referred to the hiring manager, but I still have not been contacted. Is there further action needed on my behalf?
No further action is needed. Being referred to the hiring manager
may not result in a candidate being interviewed. The hiring manager reviews all candidates and determines the most qualified candidates to interview based on the application, resume and any required supporting documents.
Who do I contact if I am having issues creating a profile on the UTSA Career website?

How do I create an account on the UTSA career website?
Refer to the Register and Apply job aid for instructions.
How do I reset my password on the UTSA Career website?
Refer to the Reset Password job aid for instructions.
Are there any limitations when creating a username and password?
Your username and password may contain any combination of characters, including letters, numbers and special characters.
Can I still apply for a position that was posted during previous weeks, but is not posted now?
If the posting is no longer listed on the UTSA Careers website, then the position has closed and is no longer
accepting applications.
In addition to the online application, what other documents are required?
Refer to the job posting as each position has specific information on the required documents that must be uploaded to be considered
for the position.
If I do not finish my application, can I save it and complete it later?
You can save your application and return later to complete it. Click the Save as Draft button at the top of the page during any step of the application process. When you are ready to complete the application process, log back in to the system and click View My Job Applications to continue your application. Note that incomplete
applications will not be considered.
How do I attach a resume or other required documents to my application?

How do I know my application was received?
After submitting your application, you will immediately receive an automated email with your confirmation number.
Once my application has been received, what are the next steps?
Once you submit your application, an automated email is sent to you confirming the submission was received. Due to the volume of applications, only those applicants proceeding to the interview process will be notified of consideration for the position. You will receive an automatic disposition once the position is filled or if you do not meet the qualifications for the position.
How do I make changes to my application once it has been submitted?
Once an application has been submitted, changes cannot be made to the application. You will have to withdraw your application and re-apply to the position with the necessary updates needed.
How do I withdraw my application from consideration?

Annual Campus Security Report Each year The University of Texas at San Antonio publishes the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act. This report contains crime statistics and on-campus housing fire statistics for the three most recent calendar years. The report includes institutional policies concerning campus security, alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, crime reporting, sexual assault and other crime related issues.

If you are a TRS return to work (RTW) retiree, the hiring department will be financially responsible for the entire portion of the TRS surcharges, both employee (7.7%) and employer (7.5%). Contact People Excellence at 210-458-4250 for more details.
Pay Transparency
