Training for Faculty & Staff

UTSA Peace Center offers training and education for faculty, staff, and student employees to improve response to disclosures and to play an active role in primary prevention.

Training and Development Courses

Training courses are offered in collaboration with the HR Training and Development Office. These courses are available for faculty, staff and student employees via the MyTraining website. Improving Our Response

For UTSA Faculty, Staff and Student Employees
Duration: 1- 1.5 hours

This training provides participants an opportunity to explore the multidimensional impact of sexual violence and practical methods to improve the response to disclosures. Participants will practice cultivating a healthy learning and working environment that is inclusive and trauma informed.


Primary Prevention Strategies

For UTSA Faculty, Staff and Student Employees
Duration: 1- 1.5 hours

This training explores the responsibility of the entire community to play an active role sexual violence prevention. Participants will examine social change theories, models and evidenceinformed strategies for primary prevention.


Provider and Responder Self-Care

For UTSA Faculty, Staff and Student Employees
Duration: 1- 1.5 hours

This training focuses on the impact of secondary traumatic stress on educators, support service staff and first responders. This training empowers participants to reflect on their wellbeing and practice self-care to minimize compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and burnout.
