One Riverwalk Place
UTSA has purchased One Riverwalk Place, a prominent office building that supports the university’s vision to provide meaningful opportunities to learn and work in San Antonio’s urban core. The building's proximity to the Southwest Campus, Downtown Campus and San Pedro block will accelerate expansion downtown and support programs that enhance the development of marketable skills as part of UTSA’s Classroom to Career initiative.
Overview
Built in 1981 and located adjacent to the university’s Southwest Campus, this 18-story office building offers nearly 265,000 square feet of space near the San Antonio Riverwalk. UTSA envisions a mixed-use, collaborative design for the building, including spaces for academics and experiential learning, as well as functional office space for support services. Leasing space to local companies and retailers will provide convenience and opportunities for increased revenue.
In alignment with the university’s long-term vision, and supported by the Campus Master Plan, One Riverwalk Place will help to position academic programs and support services downtown that benefit most from co-location with businesses and community partners in San Antonio’s urban core. Beginning in fall 2025, One Riverwalk Place will house the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design’s School of Architecture and Planning. In spring 2026, the building will welcome the Institute of Economic Development.
