Available Workshop Topics and Descriptions
- General Study Skills: In this workshop, students will identify strategies for college success before, during and after class. Students will learn techniques for effective note-taking and textbook reading.
- How to Succeed in Online Classes: In this presentation, students will learn a simplified way of gathering the tools needed to succeed in an online class.
- Note-Taking: In this interactive workshop, students will explore how effective note-taking can support learning. Students will understand the reasons for taking notes and practice different note-taking methods.
- Organization: This interactive workshop provides students with effective strategies for organizing their assignments to optimize productivity and quality. Students will practice applying those strategies by planning their assignments for the week.
- Preparing for Finals: In this interactive workshop, students will create a 3-phase study plan to prepare themselves for final exams.
- Presentation Skills: From this workshop, students will learn how to prepare and deliver presentations, tackle common challenges and the best practices to use for both individual and group settings.
- Procrastination and Motivation: This presentation helps students understand procrastination and motivation, along with their underlying causes and effects. Students will also learn practical strategies and tools to increase productivity.
- Test Prep & Anxiety: In this workshop, students will learn how to prepare for exams in advance, reduce test-related stress, generate study questions, and apply effective study and test-taking strategies.
- Time Management: In this interactive workshop, students will learn to evaluate the use of their time, discuss planning and and prioritizing, and create a study schedule to manage time effectively.
