President Eighmy welcomes a new academic year

Editor's Note: This message was sent via email from President Taylor Eighmy to all faculty and staff.

AUGUST 27, 2024 — Welcome to a new academic year! The start of each semester always brings great excitement as we look ahead to all the events and traditions that make UTSA such a special place.

This year is especially exciting as we recently announced the integration of our university with UT Health San Antonio to build a combined powerhouse institution with seven campuses across our city that will champion excellence in education, discovery, innovation and healthcare services for San Antonio and all of Texas. We are eager to share more about our bold path ahead and will continue to provide regular updates as we move through the integration process.

Whether you are new to UTSA this year or a longtime member of our faculty or staff, I encourage you to explore all the programs, organizations, and avenues of support to help you feel engaged across our campuses. We have a variety of resources available to you through our Employee Success Center. I hope you’ll make time to explore our offerings in professional and leadership development, employee wellness and more.

Additionally, I invite you to explore and learn more about our Campus Experience Task Force, which is identifying,  best practices to enhance the campus experience for all Roadrunners. The task force shared its progress earlier this summer and will continue to provide updates throughout the academic year. Be sure to have your ideas and feedback captured by visiting the task force website.

As always, I want to thank you for being a member of our university community. We are lucky to have you and I look forward to witnessing all the wonderful successes you will achieve this semester and beyond.
