Our goal is to support YOU, our employees, through a variety of ways including virtual and in-person access to resources for wellness, professional development, employee perks and more. Professional Development
UTSA employees can participate in numerous workshops, seminars and online courses to enhance their professional skills and knowledge. Our team, together with cross-campus subject matter experts, provides training on topics including leadership and supervision, personal and professional development, computer skills, administrative skills, faculty development, safety and more. Leadership Development
The Employee Success Center offers a variety of courses for supervisors looking to further develop their leadership skills. Offerings include building a team mission and vision, change management and difficult conversations for leaders. Leadership training opportunities are available for employees at all experience levels. Learn more.
Microcredentials
UTSA, in partnership with the UT System and Coursera, is proud to offer free Coursera Career Academy access to students, faculty, staff and alumni. This partnership represents the most extensive industry-recognized microcredential program from a U.S. university system, allowing Roadrunners to use the Coursera platform to earn industry certifications that prepare them to excel and enhance their professional development. Performance Management
UTSA's annual performance management cycle involves setting performance goals, conducting regular performance evaluations, and providing constructive feedback to help employees track their progress and identify areas for improvement. People Excellence offers numerous resources to support employees and managers through each phase of the performance management cycle, including job aids, trainings, FAQs and more. Employee Wellness
UTSA's robust employee wellness program offers an extensive variety of resources, tools and services to promote employee well-being and work-life balance, including workshops and webinars, the UT Living Well Platform, campus walking trails, quarterly wellness assessments, an ergonomics program, and much more.

Deer Oaks Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Deer Oaks Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free service provided to UTSA benefits-eligible employees and their dependents. The EAP offers a wide variety of counseling, referral and consultation services, which are designed to assist in resolving work or life issues in order to live more balanced lives.
Services are completely confidential and can be easily accessed by calling the toll-free helpline. Deer Oaks services are available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
Employee Benefits & Perks
UTSA employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, including plan options for medical, dental, vision and more. Employees who work at least 20 hours per week with an appointment of at least 4.5 months are eligible to enroll in benefits plans.
Employee Discount Program
Additionally, employees at UTSA and UT Health San Antonio enjoy a wide range of discounts with participating vendors.
Employee Educational Benefit Program
Learn while you earn!
The Employee Educational Benefit (EEB) program empowers eligible employees to achieve professional growth and greater job satisfaction by enrolling in traditional degree programs, job-related courses or job-related certificate courses and programs at UTSA. Employees may be awarded up to 12 semester credit hours of designated tuition and mandatory fee waivers each fiscal year.
