30. Apr. 11, 2008. MORE program has its first kick-off meeting for the 2008 summer students. We discuss the program in details and other supports besides the stipend, as well as the obligations of the MORE students. Our field trip of this year will be led by Dr. Hatim Sharif, with a focus on aquifer and watershed and will be run from 19th - 23th of May.
29. Apr. 2, 2008. MORE program announce the winners of 2008 summer research. This is the first year that SwRI is hosting 3 of our undergraduate students to work on their projects. Thanks to Dr. Marius Necsoiu (SwRI) for his hard work in leading the success.
28. March, 2008. MORE program evaluating applications and matching faculty mentors.
27. Feb. 8, 2008. The 2nd colloquium was successfully held in the SB 2.01.02. Six cash awards were given to the top presenters based on the judge committee's evaluations.
26. Feb. 1, 2008. Project topics and ideas posted in the website and also posted in the science building calling for application for the summer 2008
25. January, 2008. Call for faculty participation (due 1/31) and student application (due 2/28) sent and posted for the summer 2008.
24. October, 2007. The second MORE colloquium calling for abstract and schedule is sent out and posted in the MORE website.
23. July 26-31, 2007. MORE project field trip to West Texas and South New Mexico was successfully finished. all participants learned a lot and had a great time. Thanks to Dr. Lance Lambert for his outstanding experiences and expertise for the region.
22. June, 2007. All 12 MORE students started working on projects under the individual faculty member's supervision.
21. April 6, 2007. A kick-off meeting was held and the times and places of field trip were discussed. All students are exciting in participating the MORE science research projects and the field trip.
20. April 2, 2007. MORE program announced the support of 12 winners for the summer 2007. A kick-off meeting will be held soon to discuss the program with the students as well as the field trip.
19. March 2007. Applications for summer 2007 MORE scholarship were collected and are in the process of evaluations. Recipients and their mentors will be announced soon.
18. MORE program supports two students (Penny and Melissa) through regular semester (spring 2007) to further strengthen their research capability.

15. October 22-24, 2006. MORE project supported an undergraduate student (Penny Wagner) in her first time to attend a workshop on Martian Sulfates as Recorders of Atmospheric-Fluid-Rock Interactions. This is her first experience to attend any conference like this. She learned a lot and enjoyed a lot. The MORE project is going to support more students to attend conferences and give presentations.

12. September 22, 2006. Management Committee members (Drs. Keller, Necsoiu, Xie) meet at UTSA and discussed various issues of the MORE project and how to make it better for the next two years.
11. September 12, 2006. MORE faculty and students meet and discuss the outreach activities, colloquium, and field trip. Outreaches is led by Dr. Stuart Birnbaum; Colloquium is led by Dr. Hongjie Xie with assistance from PhD student Ms. Burcu Cicek; Field trip is led by Dr. Lance Lambert.
10. August 2006. Since Dr. Alyson Ponomarenko left UTSA, Dr. Hongjie Xie is in charge of the program.
9. May 2006, A ten days field trip to West Texas and South New Mexico was finished and about 18 students and faculty attended the trip and most of them were the first time of exposing field geology and all of them enjoyed the trip. see some photos, moves 1, 2
8. April 2006, the first MORE Science course: Geospatial Information and Technology will be offered in fall 2006 by Dr. Xie. Supported MORE Science students are encouraged to take it (see the course fly)
7. April 2006, Students were evaluated and 10 of them were selected to be supported in this summer 2006 (list).
6. February 6, 2006. Faculty mentors and research topics are posted for students to choose from for the summer 2006.
5. January 27, 2006. As inputs from various SwRI scientists, the application form has been adjusted and changed slightly, the old form is replaced by this new one.
4. January 26, 2006. Ponomarenko meets with SwRI scientists to discuss various issues on placing our students for summer research. SwRI is looking forward to fruitful collaboration on this project.
3. January 24, 2006, MORE Science is presenting its inaugural seminar given by Dr. Alyson Ponomarenko.
