Wear orange and blue for Tuesday send-off as team heads for Seattle

With a third trip to the NCAA Tournament already secure, the UTSA Roadrunners men's basketball team learned Sunday evening they will make a trip this week to Seattle, Wash., to meet the Stanford Cardinal in a first-round game Thursday, March 18 at KeyArena.

UTSA community members are encouraged to wear orange and blue Tuesday, which is designated as Spirit Day. The men's basketball team leaves Tuesday, March 16 and a send-off celebration in front of the Convocation Center is being planned for early afternoon at a time to be determined. UTSA's game begins at approximately 4:15 p.m. CST Thursday and will be televised on CBS Television (KENS-TV, Channel 5). The game also can be heard on the Roadrunner Radio Network (KSJL Radio 810 AM and www.goUTSA.com).

 

Roadrunners baseball hosts top-ranked Longhorns Tuesday night

The UTSA baseball squad hosts I-35 rival Texas at 7 p.m. March 16 at Wolff Stadium.  The Roadrunners enter the contest 9-7 overall, while the Longhorns head to town ranked No. 1 in the ESPN Coaches' Poll.  The contest marks the first meeting between the two squads this season and the Longhorns' first trip to UTSA since 2001.

The Roadrunners are 1-2 this season against ranked opponents, dropping a 6-1 decision at No. 10 Baylor before hammering seventh-ranked Notre Dame 17-9 at Wolff Stadium. Klae Boehme is scheduled to start for UTSA with a 3-1 record and 2.70 earned run average.

Tickets are $6 for children (12 and under) and $8 for adults.
