Jump on the bus to the NCAA baseball tournament

Roadrunner fans are invited to ride the bus to the NCAA Baseball Tournament opening round on Friday, June 3 in Waco, Texas when Southland Conference post-season tournament winner UTSA meets Big XII regular season co-champ Baylor at 7 p.m. The bus will leave the UTSA Convocation Center at 2 p.m., will stop in Waco for dinner and will return to San Antonio immediately after the game. The bus trip and game ticket will be $25. Call Laura Baker at (210) 458-4182 to make bus reservations. Deadline for bus reservations is Wednesday, June 1. The NCAA Regional appearance is just the second one in UTSA history and the first in 11 years.

Funeral mass for Joey Longoria scheduled for today

A funeral mass for UTSA alumnus and men's basketball staff member Joey Longoria is at 1 p.m. today at St. Anthony Claret Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Rd. Longoria, 25, fought a courageous battle for two and half years with leukemia. He eventually received a bone marrow transplant, but due to complications he also went through a liver transplant. He was the video coordinator/administrative assistant for Tim Carter and his staff for the past two years after serving as UTSA team manager for four years. After earning a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from UTSA in May 2003, Joey remained with the program in his administrative assistant capacity.
