Inventory equipment classifications are changed

Two changes were implemented Sept. 1 in the State Property Accounting (SPA) system. Beginning with fiscal year 2006 purchases, data projectors are categorized as "accountable equipment" and will be added to department unit code inventory lists. The ProCard can no longer be used to purchase data projectors costing more than $500. Data projectors purchased before Sept. 1, 2005, will not be loaded to a department's inventory. Additionally, fax machines and telecopiers costing less than $5,000 are no longer accountable equipment and will be removed from department unit code inventory lists. Inventory staff will ensure barcodes are removed.
