Ambassador nomination deadline is Nov. 11

Nominations for students to be UTSA Ambassadors will be accepted until Nov. 11. Nominees must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative G.P.A., leadership potential, participation in extracurricular and academic activities and a willingness to serve the university. Ambassadors volunteer more than 5,000 hours each year, serving as hosts, tour guides and providers of other services at the UTSA Tri-campuses. They engage in a yearlong comprehensive training program including leadership workshops, CPR training, etiquette skills and committee work. Faculty and staff members received an Ambassadors nomination form that can be sent by campus mail or faxed (458-6116) to Patricia Graham, Special Events Center, University Center, 1604 Campus.

SBC telephone directories are available

Limited supplies of new SBC white and yellow pages telephone directories are available for distribution on the 1604 Campus and at University Heights. If you need paper directories, please tell your administrative assistant, who can contact Telephone Services at 458-4200 to place an order for directories. If you are located at ITC or the Downtown Campus, contact your mailroom for telephone books. Online directory look-up is available at http://www.smartpages.com.

Institutional compliance offers online resources

Are you stumped by a compliance question? The employee standards-of-conduct guide, "Do the Right Thing," is a valuable resource to help you find answers to your compliance questions. Access this resource at the Audit, Compliance and Risk Services Web site. View the guide and acknowledgement form online or download it from the Web site. Hard copies of the guide are provided to new employees at Benefits Orientation and are available on request from the Office of Institutional Compliance and Risk Services.

President's holiday reception is Dec. 6

Mark your calendar! The President's Holiday Reception for faculty and staff members and student leaders is 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6 in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04).

 

Business affairs begins employee recognition program

"Celebrating Excellence" is a new program to recognize employees of the Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs who demonstrate excellence in creativity, promoting change and communication. Any UTSA faculty or staff member can nominate a business affairs employee for recognition.
