UTSA hosts research integrity conference

The first 150 UTSA faculty, students and staff to register for a one-day conference on best practices for conducting research will get in free. The event is March 31 at the Downtown Campus. Local and national leaders will discuss a variety of research issues, including new federal regulations and compliance, data ownership, publication practices, challenges associated with collaborative projects, ethics and conflicts of interest, and non-destructive methods of mediating bad behavior. Speakers from the U.S. Office of Research Integrity, National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation will lead some of the informational sessions. Robert Gracy, newly named vice president for research at UTSA, will introduce the conference and lead a workshop about the quickly evolving research infrastructure.

DHS seeks a few good teams

The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate, Office of University Programs, is seeking applications for paid summer research appointments for faculty and student research teams to conduct research at DHS research and education centers. The deadline for submitting online applications is Monday, March 27.

UTSA community invited to vendor fair March 29

UTSA faculty, staff and students are invited to a Materials Management Vendor Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 29 at the Convocation Center on the 1604 Campus. The event is an opportunity to meet the vendor community and to become familiar with vendor resources. Door prizes will be drawn throughout the event. A buffet lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until depleted.
