Tenured, tenure-track faculty invited to submit NIH proposals

The UTSA Minority Biomedical Research Support - Support of Continuous Research Excellence (MBRS-SCORE) program funds diverse biomedical and behaviorally related research projects. SCORE staff will submit five to seven new investigator-initiated research proposals to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by Jan. 18. Tenured and tenure-track faculty members, including those with research areas outside of biology and chemistry, are encouraged to submit proposals to the SCORE office for review and selection. HOP sponsored programs policy is updated

A sponsored programs administration policy was updated in the UTSA Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP). In policy 9.32 "Sponsored Programs Administration," editorial changes (titles and a department name) were made. Periodic updates to the HOP online will be announced in @UTSA. Access the HOP online.

UTSA co-sponsors women's leadership symposium

The UTSA Office of Institutional Diversity and the Texas Diversity Council will sponsor the 2007 Women in Leadership Symposium, Profiles of Outstanding Women, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 12 in the Buena Vista Theater and Buena Vista Street Building Meeting Assembly Room (1.338) at the UTSA Downtown Campus. Registration is $35. With each individual registration, a high school or college student can register at no charge. For planning purposes, early registration is encouraged. Panelists will include, among others, Sheryl Sculley, San Antonio city manager, and Dianna Stone, UTSA professor of management. For registration information and the full story, read UTSA Today.

Central receiving changes procedure

To ensure that all e-mail requests for receiving reports are processed in a timely manner, there is a new procedure for offices at the 1604 Campus. E-mail requests for receiving reports to "Central Receiving Warehouse" rather than to a particular staff member.
