Construction causes closures at JPL Building, Walter Brenan AvenueAs part of compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), construction of a ramp will be completed between 1 and 3 p.m., Friday, March 21 at the east entrance of the John Peace Library Building, 1604 Campus. The west parking area at the lower entry of the Main Building will be closed at this time to allow access for a concrete truck. The parking area includes the president's parking space and two short-term, two service and two guest spaces. Additionally, the pedestrian path on the east side of Walter Brenan Avenue next to the Laurel Village construction site will be closed March 17-April 18 for construction work at the thermal energy plant. During construction, trucks will remove gravel from the thermal energy plant site; pedestrians near Laurel Village must use sidewalks on the west side of Walter Brenan Avenue adjacent to parking lots 1A and 1B. Be alert to flagmen and barricades diverting vehicle traffic. More information: Facilities Work Control, 458-4262.

New policy added to the HOPA new policy was added to the UTSA Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP): Policy 9.38, "Guidelines for Service Centers and Institutes at The University of Texas at San Antonio." Provide input online on UTSA honor codeTo help support a positive academic environment, the UTSA Honors Alliance, Student Government Association and Office of Student Judicial Affairs began work in 2003 to establish an honor code for the UTSA community. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in a short online survey to provide input on the honor code, which will be submitted for approval to faculty and administration. Faculty and staff receive dining discount with Rowdy DollarsDid you know that faculty and staff members receive a 6-percent discount at five Chartwells dining venues? Receive the discount by using Rowdy Dollars on your UTSACard. At the 1604 Campus, go to the Main Street Grill (University Center), JPL Food Court, Market Place Café (Business Building) and Roadrunner Café. At the Downtown Campus, visit the Downtown Café in the Frio Street Building. Use new online form to request UTSA event spaceEffective March 10, the process for requesting event space at the UTSA campuses was streamlined by combining two paper forms into one online form. Access the new form at the UTSA Events Calendar Web site. After form submission, requests are automatically forwarded to administrators who approve reservation requests at the 1604 Campus, Downtown Campus and Institute of Texan Cultures. Learn about products, services at vendor fair March 27The UTSA Department of Purchasing and Distribution will host Vendor Fair 2008 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, March 27 at the Convocation Center on the 1604 Campus. Faculty, staff and students are invited to the event where they can meet vendors who provide products and services to UTSA. The event is free and door prizes will be drawn throughout the day.
