Form is required to take UTSA property off campus

Before UTSA property can be removed from the UTSA campuses or leased facilities, a removal of equipment form must be completed, signed and submitted to the inventory office. UTSA equipment can be used only for university business and not personal use. If UTSA property taken off campus is stolen, the UTSA employee may be held financially responsible for the property if the theft is determined to be the result of negligence.

Stolen property reports are forwarded to the property manager to be presented to the UTSA Stolen Property Committee for further review and determination of negligence. Final determination is by the associate vice president for financial affairs. If there were a failure to complete a removal of equipment form for equipment that was stolen off campus, it is reported to the Stolen Property Committee and may be considered in the determination of negligence.
