Special Research Associate
The College of Sciences, Department of Chemistry is seeking to fill a Special Research Associate position.
Starting Salary Range: $57,888/Annualized (beginning salary is negotiable depending on experience)
Required: Successful candidates must have a commitment to excellence and attention to detail, a Master’s Degree or advanced level degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or closely related field, and four (4) years of experience in advanced mass spectrometry use.
Preferred: Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry; demonstrated extensive expertise in the use of separations and mass spectrometry to solve a wide range of bio-molecular problems; expertise in areas of proteomics, post-translational modifications, and small molecule mass spectrometry.
Job Duties: The candidate will support the Mass Spectrometry (MS) Facility and Glycoconjugate Analysis Center core initiative and demonstrate extensive expertise in the use of separations and mass spectrometry to solve a wide range of bio-molecular problems. Candidate will (1) manage the shared MS resources and assist with other MS assets across the College, (2) be responsible for operating, maintaining and trouble-shooting instrumentation, (3) train and supervise student users and assistants, (4) collaborate with faculty and research groups on MS data collection and analysis, and (5) assist in the preparation of proposals for new equipment.

Robert A. Welch Endowed Chair in Chemistry at The University of Texas at San Antonio
The Department of Chemistry at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) seeks internationally renowned scientists to fill two newly established Robert A. Welch Endowed Chairs in Chemistry.
