Benefits
The UTSA Head Start Summer Institute has numerous benefits for Head Start teachers.

Benefits of participating in the 2009 Summer Institute include:
- Earning up to 12 college credit hours towards your degree-
classes offered in two three week sessions
- SAC-AA/AAS degree courses
- UTSA-BA/BAAS degree courses
- Tuition, books, and admission fees
supplemented after applying financial aid funding
- Required textbooks will be
provided by the grant. Textbooks will be purchased in advance and
distributed.
- Lodging and meals during the Summer Institute. Students from outside San Antonio are encouraged to stay (free of charge) at the University Oaks Apartments. The apartments are modern apartment-type dorms located at the UTSA 1604 Campus. Small stipends for meals may be provided for out-of-town students staying at the apartments. San Antonio residents may stay at the apartments if funds are available after providing for out-of-town teachers.
- Tuesday/Thursday Special Speaker Series Luncheons.

- On Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the two 3 week summer sessions, students attend catered luncheons where motivational speakers discuss topics related to academic, professional and personal success.
- Assistance and support during the Summer Institute.

We know about the stress of going back to school, so we have built a support system to help you from the minute you are accepted into the UTSA Head Start Summer Institute. Advisors and counselors are available to help you deal with both academic and personal issues. We will do everything within our means to help you feel secure and confident in your academic endeavors.
