UTSA TERRY SCHOLARSHIPS
Award: Up to the cost of attendance (including tuition, fees, books, and living expenses on campus)

  • Must demonstrate a record of leadership and service
  • Must have strong academic ability, as evidenced by grades and standardized test scores
  • Must have attended a Texas high school or be a home-schooled, Texas resident
  • Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Must be unmarried and childless
    • Deadline: Feb. 1

PRESIDENTIAL HONORS SCHOLARSHIPS
Award: 80 awards of $1,500 a year (renewable)

  • Incoming freshmen must be in the top 10 percent of high school class or have a minimum SAT score of 1100 or ACT score of 24
  • Transfer and continuing UTSA students must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 hours)
  • Must be enrolled in the Honors College
    • Application requirements: Honors College application, essay and two letters of recommendation
    • Deadline: Feb. 15

PETER T. FLAWN PRESIDENTIAL HONORS SCHOLARSHIPS
Award: Six awards of $2,500 a year (renewable)

  • Incoming freshmen must be in the top 10 percent of high school class or have a minimum SAT score of 1100 or ACT score of 24
  • Must be pursuing a major in the College of Engineering or the College of Sciences
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 hours)
  • Must be enrolled in the Honors College
    • Application requirements: Honors College application, essay and two letters of recommendation
    • Deadline: Feb. 15


To apply for the following scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:

  • UTSA students must be enrolled in the Honors College and have a minimum UTSA or cumulative GPA of 3.25
  • Incoming freshmen and new transfer students must be admitted to the Honors College
  • Must be enrolled full time (12 hours)
  • Must meet additional requirements as specified.
    • Application requirements: Honors College application
    • Deadline: No deadline

  • Must apply as a graduating senior
  • Must have received a bachelor's degree from UTSA
  • Must plan to enroll in a UTSA graduate program as a full-time student (9 hours)
  • Must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or better

Students who wish to apply for the following national scholarships must be nominated by the Associate Dean of the Honors College:

 

HARRY S. TRUMAN NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Up to 80 awards of $30,000 nationwide for the senior year of college and two years of graduate study

  • Must be a junior at the time of application
  • Must plan a career in public service as defined by the Truman Foundation
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national
  • Must have extensive record of community service, leadership or participation in extra-curricular activities
  • Must have a minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA
  • Must seek nomination by the UTSA Truman faculty representative (up to four nominees per institution)
    • Application requirement: Contact the Associate Dean of the Honors College
    • Deadline for seeking nomination: Oct. 1

MARSHALL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Up to 40 awards nationwide for two years of post-graduate study in the United Kingdom

  • Must be a senior at the time of application
  • Must plan a career in higher education, commerce and industry, or the arts
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have extensive record of service and leadership
  • Must have a minimum 3.7 cumulative GPA
  • Must seek nomination by the UTSA Marshall faculty representative
    • Application requirements: Contact the Associate Dean of the Honors College
    • Deadline for seeking nomination: Sept. 1

RHODES SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Up to 32 awards nationwide for two years of post-graduate study at Oxford University

  • Must be a senior at the time of application
  • Must be 18-24 years of age on Oct. 1 of the year of application
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have extensive record of service and leadership
  • Must have a minimum 3.7 cumulative GPA
  • Must seek nomination by the UTSA Rhodes Scholarship faculty representative
    • Application requirements: Contact the Associate Dean of the Honors College
    • Deadline for seeking nomination: Sept. 1

     

     

     

     

    BOREN SCHOLARSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP

    Award: Scholarships provide up to $20,000 for an academic year's study abroad.

                  Fellowships provide up to $30,000 for language study and international         

                  research.

     

    • The Institute of International Education is pleased to announce the beginning of the 2008-2009 National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Scholarship and Fellowship competitions.

    • Created in 1991, NSEP awards undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships to American students for study of world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East).

    • Information and the online applications for the scholarships and fellowships are available on the Institute of International Education's website: www.iie.org/nsep.

    • Application deadline for the Boren Fellowship is January 30,
    • Application deadline  for the Boren Scholarship is February 12.
