Honors College

Eligibility Requirements

Admission to the Honors Program is competitive and based on GPA, ACT or SAT scores, an essay, and recommendations. Students entering directly from high school should meet one or more of the following requirements:

  • are ranked in the top 10% or
  • have a composite SAT (M+CR) of 1200 or
  • have a composite ACT of 27

The Honors Program also accepts transfer students and students who wish to enroll after a semester or more at UTSA. Such students are eligible to apply if they have a GPA of 3.4 or better.

Students who elect to participate in the University of Texas Coordinated Admission Program (UT-CAP) are not eligible to be members of the Honors College. Students who are admitted to the Honors College and who later join UT-CAP will no longer be in compliance and will be considered ineligible for membership
