STARS - Department Approver

REQUISITION INSTRUCTIONS

Once you've logged onto STARS, click the View Pending tab from the menu on the left of the screen and locate the position identified on the email notification, your next step is:

If you are NOT the correct Department Approver contact HR @4250 and ask for a STARS representative.

If you are a Department Approver click on View tab under requisition title and if you:

Agree with the proposed action and the policy in your department requires that final review is required at the Executive/VP level then

  • Click on the box titled “Submit Req for Executive Approval”
  • Click on CONTINUE box
  • Click on CONFIRM box
  • To add notes, see instructions below
  • If there are no more transactions requiring your review, you may LOGOUT and exit STARS

Agree with the proposed action and you are the final authority in your department (action doesn't require Executive/VP Approval) then

  • Click on the box titled “Submit Req for Compensation Approval”
  • Click on CONTINUE box
  • Click on CONFIRM box
  • To add notes, see instructions below
  • If there are no more transactions requiring your review, you may LOGOUT and exit STARS

Disagree with the proposed action and want to disapprove it then

  • Click the box titled “Deny”
  • Click on CONTINUE box
  • Click on CONFIRM box
  • To add notes, see instructions below
  • If there are no more transactions requiring your review, you may LOGOUT and exit STARS

Disagree with the proposed action and want to return it for additional information or want it amended then

  • Click the box titled “Return”
  • Click on CONTINUE box
  • Click on CONFIRM box
  • To add notes, see instructions below
  • If there are no more transactions requiring your review, you may LOGOUT and exit STARS

To add notes at any time then

  • You can do this from the “View Pending” screen by clicking “View” under the Position Title
  • At this screen click “Edit”
  • On the next screen, scroll right to the “Notes/History” tab and click it
  • Scroll down to the “Add Notes” section and enter your comments
  • When finished entering comments, click the “ADD NOTES” box
  • Click on CONFIRM box
  • You are now finished adding notes
