Summary

 

·  Function:   To provide professional knowledge, advice and counseling skills regarding the institutional student admission and recruitment process.

 

·  Scope:      Responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate students, including activities that will generate prospects, applicants, and enrollees.

 

Duties

 

·  Typical:

1.      Develops and implements strategies of the admissions plan.

2.      Manages a geographical territory for the purpose of recruiting freshman and transfer enrollees. Develops and nurtures relationships with influential contacts.

3.      Provides information to prospective students and parents on specific educational opportunities of the University, both on and off the campus. Counsels students and parents on admission requirements and financial aid processes.

4.      Travels to high schools, colleges, and other learning institutions to publicize and explain admission requirements and procedures.

5.      Replies to phone calls, correspondence and e-mail from prospective students and their family members.

6.      Coordinates, organizes and participates in programs, events and other recruitment opportunities both on and off campus.

7.      Reviews files, enters data, makes recommendations and tracks student progress in the admissions process.

8.      Performs other duties as assigned.
