Summary

 

·  Function:   To provide skills in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.

 

·  Scope:      Responsible for performing mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of automobiles, trucks, tractors, bulldozers, golf carts, lawn equipment and related equipment.

 

Duties

 

·  Typical:

1.      Diagnoses vehicle and equipment trouble.

2.      Performs routine and special repairs to University vehicles and equipment.

3.      Performs other duties as assigned.

 

·  Periodic:

1.      Orders parts and repair equipment.

2.      Provides repair and maintenance cost estimates.

 

Education

 

Required

Preferred

High school diploma or GED.

Vocational training in automotive repair.

 

Other Requirements

 

Required

Preferred

Valid Texas Driver’s License and approval rating from the University Police Department.

ASC Certification.

Criminal Background Check (CBC).

 

Experience

Three years of experience as an automotive, truck or equipment mechanic

Four years of similar experience.

Tools and equipment used in automotive and truck repair.
