Summary

 

·  Function:   To provide the supervisory and technical skills required in directing audio-visual support activities.

 

·  Scope:      Responsible for assigning, scheduling, and supervising workers involved in audio-visual services and for the maintenance and care of equipment.

 

Duties

 

·  Typical:

1.      Plans, assigns, instructs, and supervises the work of personnel in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of audio and visual equipment.  Document activities in accordance with University Policies.

2.      Prepare plans, estimates time and materials necessary for AV projects.

3.      Instruct faculty and staff on the proper use of audio-visual equipment.

4.      Oversee the daily presentation of audio and video materials.

5.      Coordinates and supervises the collaboration of audio-visual services with other departments.

6.      Supervises and lends technical support to special activities.

7.      Provide production engineering support to videoconferencing activities.

8.      Perform other duties as assigned.

1.      Maintain diagrams and schematics of various facilities and equipment.

 

Education

 

Required

Preferred

Two years of college training in audio-visual equipment and electronics.

Associate’s degree in Electronics or a related field.

Three years of experience in purchasing, maintenance, and the proper use of audio-visual equipment, including one year in a supervisory capacity.
