Summary
|
· Function: To provide
hardware/software support and the technical skills required for the
installation, operation and optimization of digital network communication
equipment. · Scope: Responsible for installing and maintaining network
communication equipment and software necessary for terminals, workstations,
personal computers, and mainframe computers to effectively communicate over a
computer network. |
Duties
|
· Typical: 1. Provides technical support and knowledge of computers and/or a network to include setup of computers on university network; installing and configuring computer hardware and software; providing assistance to clients of the university; establishing and maintaining connectivity of academic systems; configure and installing network switches; and administering, troubleshooting, and repairing peripherals and software on workstations. 2. Provides training and support of software packages to staff, faculty and management. 3. Assists higher level network personnel with the development of reports and procedures to optimize the benefits of network capabilities. 4. Performs other duties as assigned. · Periodic: 1.
