FS0104 - Working with Disruptive People
Course Description Basic and advanced skills to use when confronted with disruptive people. You will receive detailed instructions and sample referral forms used in the student judicial affairs process as well as preventative coaching techniques. You will have the opportunity to integrate these skills within the office environment when the disruptive person is a co-worker. You will be provided with safety procedures and a quick reference card with up to date information. Discussions will include information on police involvement, procedures and counseling insight.
Course Objectives Participants will: 1) Have knowledge of basic skills to use working with disruptive people. 2)Have knowledge of basic and advanced skills to deescalate an escalating situation. 3)Gain insight into the police department's procedures and the best practices to work with the police. 4)Gain insight into Counseling services procedures and best practices to work with their office, make referrals and utilize consultation. 5) Have insight into the Student Judicial Affairs process and the best practices to work with this office 6)Have renewed confidence to work with disruptive people by gaining knowledge as to common motivations behind their actions. motivations behind their actions.
