UTSA Training and DevelopmentFrequently Asked Questions - FAQ's |
Where can I find a list of classes?
TXClass has the most up-to-date information about classes offered. Training and Development also publishes a newsletter three times a year that is distributed through the campus mail. Our web site also publishes a complete catalog of courses offered through Training and Development.
What is an EID? Why do I need it? How do I get it?
An EID (Employee Identification Number) replaces your social security number as your identifier while employed at UTSA. It is different than your Banner number. All employees should activate their EID in order to have access to personal information such as biographical, W-2 information, earnings statements and more. You are assigned an EID when you are hired. To activate your EID, call ext 4658 to enroll in AM540 "Activate your EID - For all employees".
How do I find out what classes I've taken or that my employees have taken?
If you have activated your EID, you may log on to TXClass, then select the option of Training History, and your profile will be displayed with all of the classes you have registered for and their respective status. If you have NOT activated your EID it will be necessary to contact Training and Development at extension 4658. Training history may only be displayed by the specific individual who has entered TXClass with their EID. To access the training history of another individual, it will be necessary to either request that they print out their history or contact Training and Development at extension 4658.
Can someone other than myself, sign me up for a class?
"Yes, you may call Training & Development, ext. 4658, to have someone enroll you."
If I sign up for a course and fail to attend the class, does it register in my training history?
Yes. If you fail to attend the class and do not withdraw from the roster previous to the class, a “No Show” will be entered into the TXClass database and will be registered in your personal training history.
Can part-time or temporary employees attend classes offered through the Training and Development department?
Yes, with their supervisor's approval.
What do I need to do if I want to teach a class?
Classes pertaining to UTSA processes and issues are pertinent to the development of staff and faculty. Please contact the Training and Development office, x 4658 for guidance.
