Management Training and Accountability Initiative

In accordance with U.T. System financial accountability mandates, Dr. Romo has approved the implementation of a Management Training and Accountability Initiative.
The Initiative has 3 components:

  1. Guidelines for administrators/managers in the form of a
    Management Responsibilities Guide (MRG)

  2. A requirement that administrators/managers certify annually that they are performing the critical administrative, fiscal and other stewardship activities outlined in the MRG.

A Management Assessment Tool (MAT) has been designed to assist administrators/managers with the annual certification process.

  3. Departmental Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs), performed by Institutional Compliance, to validate the management certifications.

The Management Responsibilities Guide and Management Assessment Tool outlines the fundamental responsibilities inherent in functioning as a steward of University resources. It is intended to introduce these responsibilities to Account Administrators/Managers who are new to the University or their roles, and to guide longer-term Account Administrators/Managers.

Management Certification The Fiscal Management Sub-Certification and the Management Certification will be issued to account administrators September 2009.
