Nov 18. ASPRS UTSA Chapter and LRSG exhibited our geospatial related works and the Department of Geological Sciences to hundreds of San Antonio school kids at the San Antonio GIS Day. Thanks to graduate students Newfel and Guoqing for their time and hard work.

Nov. 21 ASPRS UTSA Chapter and LRSG exhibited our geospatial related works to hundreds of San Antonio school kids at the San Antonio GIS Day - Student Day. PhD student Newfel Mazari and masters student BeiBei Yu lead the efforts.

Ms. Burcu Ozsoy-Cicek got first place at the ASPRS Mid-South Student Award for her presentation “Intercomparisons of Antarctic sea ice properties from ship observations, active and passive microwave satellite observations in the Bellingshausen Sea”, at the ASPRS/MAPPS Fall Conference, Nov 16-19, San Antonio, TX.
Mr. Mark Schnur got first place at the ASPRS Mid-South Student Award for her presentation “Mapping time series root zone soil moisture in a semi-arid region using satellite images", at the ASPRS/MAPPS Fall Conference, Nov 16-19, San Antonio, TX.
2006
Ms. Burcu Ozsoy-Cicek got second place at Student Papers/Presentations with the presentation named "Variability of Snow Depth on Sea Ice in Ross Region of Antarctic using AMSR-E/AQUA Geophysical Products", at ASPRS-MAPPS Fall 2006 Conference, November 6-10, San Antonio, TX.
2004
Mr. Kunle Owojori got the Third Best Graduate Paper at the ASPRS regional conference, for his oral presentation of " Land cover change associated with the growth of Nacogdoches and Lufkin, Texas from 1984-2002", November 10-13, 2004, Nacogdoches, TX.
