San Antonio Mentoring Forum ScholarshipSupporting Higher Education Through MentoringThe SAMF scholarship is designed to provide access to higher education for seniors who have benefited from a structured mentoring program during their academic career. This scholarship program will connect the scholarship recipient to UTSA’s successful ACE program. The ACE program promotes academic success through a variety of programs including learning communities, tutoring and individual advising. Scholarship Requirements
Scholarship AwardThe San Antonio Mentor Forum Scholarship will award up to two $2,500 scholarships to The University of Texas at San Antonio for up to two Bexar County students for the 2008-2009 academic year. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 overall GPA with a minimum of twelve hours of coursework during the academic semesters at UTSA in order to continue to receive the scholarship award. Scholarship awards will be submitted directly to UTSA to be disbursed in even increments for (4) subsequent semesters of enrollment following the award notice.Scholarship ApplicationThe San Antonio Mentor Forum Scholarship recipients will be required to take a minimum of (12) college course hours at The University of Texas at San Antonio for each long-term academic semester. Courses should include core curriculum courses as chosen by the ACE Program staff/advisor and may include a developmental course, depending on THEA assessment results. In addition, SAMF Scholarship recipients will also be enrolled in the College Success Seminar, a study skills instruction course, which is designed to help students enhance their study skills and promote their success at UTSA.For more information regarding the SAMF and ACE programs, please contact:
