The SAMF Mentoring Summit

We are pleased to announce The SAMF Mentoring Summit hosted by the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Office of P-20 Initiatives. The SAMF Mentoring Conference is a one-day statewide conference designed to allow mentoring programs and mentoring advocates from across the state to come together for a professional development opportunity.

Mentoring professionals, program staff and mentoring advocates from across the state of Texas are invited to attend and share best practices in mentoring, mentoring program successes and the latest news in mentoring in Texas. There will also be a Mentoring Recognition Awards Luncheon at the conference in honor of National Mentoring Month. Dr. Michael J. Karcher and Dr. Victor B. Saenz will be among the special guest speakers at the SAMF Mentoring Summit.

Interested in Presenting

Mentors, mentoring professionals, program staff and faculty are invited to present at this year's Mentoring Summit. Presentations will be approximately 50 minutes in length. Deadline for proposals is September 21st. Presentation topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Recruitment and retention of mentors
  • Recognition of mentors
  • Successful Mentoring Programs for Youth
  • Successful Mentoring Programs for College Students
  • Research in Mentoring
  • While these subjects are the primary focus, we invite you to submit any original ideas you may have for presentation topics at this year’s summit.
