Network Accounts
June 2011: The network account request process has changed, effectively eliminating the need to formally request accounts for new faculty and staff members. Please review the following information before submitting a network account request.

Request a network account for a new employee |
|
|
Accounts are automatically created when entered into HRMS. New employee will activate account in Day O.N.E. orientation. |

Create the account using the online system (http://www.utsa.edu/oit/GetNetworkID). |

Students - use their existing account, request departmental permissions, if needed. Non-students - create the account through HRMS, send the account activation email to the employee. To request departmental permissions for the employee, submit your request using our Web form. In ASAP, select the Employee Services tab, then Network Account Forms link. ASAP is available at https://asap.utsa.edu. |

Activate a new account |
Accounts are automatically activated at Day O.N.E. orientation. If the employee needs access before then, log in to the online system: http://www.utsa.edu/oit/GetNetworkID (see detailed instructions in the account activation FAQ below). |

Add departmental permissions to a new account (request access to departmenal I: drive, shared network printer, etc.) |
Submit your request using our Web form. In ASAP, select the Employee Services tab, then Network Account Forms link. ASAP is available at https://asap.utsa.edu. |

Modify an existing network account |

Transfer an existing network account |

Request a Departmental Email Account |

How can I find out if a network account already exists for an employee?
- Log in to the Network Account application (http://www.utsa.edu/oit/GetNetworkID)
- Enter the new employee's information
- Review the records returned by the search (if applicable) to verify the network account has been created
How do I send an account activation email to a new employee, guest or contractor?
- Log in to the Network Account application (http://www.utsa.edu/oit/GetNetworkID)
- Enter the new employee's information
- Review the records returned by the search
- Select the record from the list and click Submit
- On the Network Account Creation – Account Exists page enter the employee's NON-UTSA email address (for example, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, etc.)
- Click Send Email
How do I create a network account for a guest or contractor?
- Log in to the Network Account application (http://www.utsa.edu/oit/GetNetworkID)
- Enter the new employee's information
- Review the records returned by the search (if applicable) to ensure the network account does not already exist
- If the list does not display the employee you are looking for, select "None of the above" and click Submit
- Verify the new employee's information
- Click Create Account
