All UTSA faculty, staff and students are invited to attend open forums featuring finalist candidates for the Vice President for Inclusive Excellence. 

During the forums, hear each finalist give an overview of their qualifications, their interest in the position and their vision for the academic enterprise at UTSA, followed by a question and answer session with the audience.

Position Description

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) seeks candidates to serve as the founding Vice President for Inclusive Excellence (VPIE) and to provide leadership in the development, coordination, and implementation of initiatives that contribute toward establishing an effective and collaborative policy and practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  Reporting to President Taylor Eighmy and working with the leadership team and key campus stakeholders, the VPIE will be a proven leader in diversity and inclusion and will help shape policies, set goals and provide strategic direction to cultivate a spirit of collaboration and an inclusive campus environment.

June 2018
  • Diversified Search visits campus to meet with the search committee and to solicit input from campus stakeholders
  • Diversified Search develops targeted research strategy and begins contacting, screening, and evaluating/interviewing prospective candidates (ongoing)
July 2018
  • Weekly/biweekly update calls with the search committee chair to review progress and discuss market intelligence/feedback
August 2018
  • Search committee meets to review slate of candidates recommended by Diversified and selects individuals for first round interviews.
  • First-round candidates selected and interviewed, finalists recommended for advancment
September 2018
  • Finalists visit campus, final candidate selected
  • Target for VPIE appointment by September 30
