It’s all about honoring everything UTSA has to offer, which isn’t just your diploma. This giving campaign is about paying tribute to the stuff you didn’t think you’d experience: meeting your BFF at Roadrunner Camp, joining student organizations that support your passions, conducting groundbreaking research alongside world-renowned faculty, and so much more. Moving toward becoming a top-tier public research university, UTSA relies on donations from generous alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and, friends to provide the latest resources for research, develop strong graduate and PhD programs, and recruit outstanding faculty who are well-known experts in their field .

hundreds of scholarships

Mary E. McKinney, a teacher from Texas who completed post-graduate courses at UTSA, joined the hundreds of generous alumni and friends in supporting students at UTSA by leaving her estate worth $22 million to the university to provide scholarships for students in need .

amazing student life

Since 2009, parents of current UTSA students have raised over $25,000 to make your student life experience on campus better than ever.  The UTSA Parent Council decides where the money goes based on a competitive grant process open to staff and students.  This year, parents are funding Alternative Spring Break, HIV awareness programs, V-day at UTSA, SGA’s major/minor fair, a foreign student welcome reception and laptops for student athletes .

UTSA's Libraries play a pivotal role in the institution's ascent to Tier One research university status. Gifts to the Libraries help keep the JPL, DT Library, and AET satellite Library up-to-date with the latest resources and state-of-the-art services .

Become one of our coordinators. All coordinators must:
  • Be a current UTSA student (junior or senior preferred)
  • Be professional, dedicated, creative, enthusiastic, and motivated
  • Be capable of working well with little or no supervision, multi-tasking and motivating themselves and others
  • Have strong communication skills including the ability to coach, mentor and provide performance feedback
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Exhibit enthusiasm for UTSA, understand and demonstrate the importance of building pride and giving back to the University
Events Coordinator
  • Lead in planning and implementing RR4L events including Thanks Day, RR4L Pool Party, tabling on campus, and participation in other campus events
  • Secure event locations, contact vendors to solicit food and entertainment donations for major RR4L events, prepare detailed event plans
  • Insure that all materials are prepared or purchased before events
  • Advertise for major RR4L events using Facebook, posting banners, distributing flyers on and near campus, etc.
Student Relations Coordinator
  • Act as liaison between RR4L and student organizations (college councils, Greek fraternities and sororities, etc.)
  • Contact organizations to coordinate times for meetings and presentations
  • Coordinate competitions among student organizations in support of RR4L goals
  • Ensure that student organizations are aware of major RR4L events
  • Generate and execute creative ways to thank student donors
Giving Coordinator
  • Lead in volunteer recruitment; prepare flyers, oversee recruitment table, respond to student inquiries, etc.
  • Lead in volunteer training; keep track of who needs training and coordinating training sessions, ensure that all volunteers appropriately communicate the campaign's message and to securely collect gifts
  • Keep volunteers up to date with RR4L announcements via email and by preparing the agenda for meetings
  • Work with Events Coordinator to assign volunteers to specific job duties during RR4L events and to prepare volunteer schedules to insure that the tables are fully staffed

Why do you need more money from me when I already pay tuition?

The truth is your tuition doesn’t pay for your full education at UTSA. Together, support from the state and our tuition only cover about two-thirds of the University’s budget every year. So, UTSA relies on donations from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations to help provide the remaining funds needed. Companies and foundations are more likely to give money to universities who have strong support from alumni and students.

Do I have to give $10?

No, this is only a suggested amount because it's meaningful and affordable. Think about it, 10 bucks is only a couple lattes or about 3 cents a day for a year! But regardless of the amount you give, your gift along with gifts from other students will cumulatively make an impact on our University.

Is there a deadline to make my gift?

You can make a gift at any time, but for your gift to be considered as part of this year's campaign make your gift this academic year, between September 1 – August 31.

What do I get out of giving?

On top of the happy karma you will receive for giving, all RR4L student donors will be invited to an RR4L thank you event on April 24. Students who haven’t made a gift yet will also be invited to attend and give their gift that day. But remember that all gifts come back to you through more campus life and stronger academics, which increase the value of your degree.
