Welcome to UTSA! We are glad you are here!
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to a special all-campus event, Celebrate International! on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the University Center Paseo on Main Campus.
This year marks the second consecutive year that the Inclusion and Community Engagement Center and the College of Business International Office have collaborated on this great cultural experience.
The event includes a showcase of performances, information tables and interactive and educational activities with valuable information about UTSA student organizations and departments. Special ethnic foods will be served, and after completing a survey about the event, you will get a free t-shirt. Food and t-shirts are free and available while supplies last.
For more information about the event and to request an accommodation, please contact the Inclusion and Community Engagement Center UC 2.01.04 or 210.458.4770.
The Student Leadership Center recognizes UTSA students each month for their leadership contributions and qualities by honoring them as the Roadrunner of the Month. The monthly recipients will be highlighted in UTSA Today and the Vice President of Student Affairs Newsletter. In addition, they will be featured on a plaque displayed on the UTSA Legacy of Leadership wall in the University Center, outside of the ballroom.
Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to submit nominations for students, and the nominees must meet the following criteria to be considered as a recipient of the award:
Place your nomination(s) through http://utsa.edu/slc/nomination-form.html
Show your appreciation for your fellow coworker and nominate them for the Staff Council Appreciation Award!
The appreciation award recognizes a UTSA Staff member who:
Nominations are due by the first Thursday of each month. Click here to download complete instructions.
The Graduation Rate Improvement Plan (G.R.I.P.) affects the University at many levels. Join us for "Get Your Grip on G.R.I.P.” and learn not only how the GRIP could impact your area, but also how it may affect the way you plan your programs and interact with students. We all want to see our students succeed and graduate. Join us and find out more about the GRIP and your role in ensuring its success.
Rowdy Cents had a blast at Best Fest 2013! It was great to find out what UTSA students are saving their money for! Encourage students to contact Rowdy Cents because financial literacy and money management topics apply to every student, regardless of where their income comes from or if they are recipients of financial aid.
If you would like to request a presentation, collaborate or learn more about Rowdy Cents, please contact Financial Aid Outreach Specialist, Lara Crouch at 210-458-2803. Don’t forget to ‘like’ us on Facebook and check out our other resources and upcoming Fall workshops at www.utsa.edu/moneymatters!

It’s that time of year again! Graduation Coordination is calling for volunteers to work the graduate line-up before the commencement ceremonies. It’s a great opportunity to be a part of the graduation experience.
Graduation Coordination will confirm volunteers and continue to provide updates on logistics as the date draws near. Attached you will find a PDF to print for sharing in your workspace and a memorandum from Sam Gonzales regarding commencement staffing. It is important that all our available spots are filled with dedicated staff.
Let us know when you would like to volunteer:
Please note:
Parking passes will be available for UTSA staff volunteers for December 2013 commencement. Carpooling to the dome is encouraged. Thanks in advance for your assistance as we continue to keep the cost of commencement down.
Volunteer duties will include checking in students by college and directing students where to go. If you have a preference on what you would like to do, who you would like to sit at a check-in table with or which college you would like to work with, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Please contact Kayla Larsen at x7554, Alex Perez at x4603, or Cié Gee at x7552.
Thank you all for your help during this exciting time for our students!

The transition of the UTSA campuses to tobacco-free and smoke-free status began June 1, 2013. Through this one-year transition period, smoking and the use of tobacco products will be restricted to designated areas on campus.
UTSA is committed to supporting students and employees who wish to stop using tobacco products. For students, resources are available through Student Health Services. For employees, resources are available through the Employee Assistance Program.
