Let Your True Colors Shine for UTSA

Acknowledging the values and joys of your dominant True Colors perspective is a sure-fire way of rekindling your inner motivation.

When my Gold colleagues are able to reflect on their deeply ingrained love of structure and consistency, or when Oranges revel in the excitement of new problem-solving tactics, they each find a happy place from which to move forward and continue advancing the great work of our division.

When Greens “geek out” on theories of optimization and when Blues embrace how much they value making others feel appreciated, they each find a touchstone of energy with which to keep striving for excellence as Roadrunners. Recalling what makes us strong and happy allows us to really get up and keep going.

Likewise, we find our best connections with others when we are in touch with our True Colors. We demonstrate and harness our most genuine motivation and energy by letting our colors shine.

Sincere motivation, joyfulness and curiosity about our work and about our interactions improve not only our relationships within our existing community but also attract prospective new Roadrunners to “Go Birds Up.”

People flock to serve dynamic organizations. Additionally, a sense of belonging is consistently found in organizations that are vibrant and diverse. This is all the more important when we think about being one big team in the university’s recruitment efforts. It’s prime time for prospective students to decide upon UTSA as their university of choice. Let’s show those young visiting scholars taking campus tours our True Colors as Roadrunners!

Has your color spectrum changed over the years? How?

Describe those changes to your colleagues. Remember True Colors is a tool to understanding others and ourselves. It is a common language because we talk about it and use it to articulate our perspectives to each other. Keep it going.
