The University of Texas at San Antonio McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program A Federal TRIO Initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Education
The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program was created under the Higher Education Amendments of 1986. It was named in honor of Dr. Ronald E. McNair (an African-American engineer, scientist and astronaut who perished in the 1986 explosion of the space shuttle Challenger).
The McNair
Scholars Program, as it is commonly referred to, will assist
economically qualified, first generation college students and students
from underrepresented groups in doctoral studies and scholarly
activities.
The aforementioned activities are designed to prepare UTSA McNair scholars for the rigors of doctoral work and will ensure their preparation in all ways possible to obtain a Ph.D. McNair Staff will consult with UTSA colleges and other offices to identify and recruit eligible program participants. The UTSA McNair Scholars program is directed by Rhonda Moses, Executive Director-TRIO Programs.
Application Deadline: September 25, 2010 For program information or to apply for the program, please contact:
